DI Mama Chair for 15 years of Dutch Invertuals
15 years ago we sat at a table, planning an exhibition in Milano dubbed Dutch Invertuals, not suspecting it to become ‘the wild rideâ it turned out to be.
Without the driving force, the inexhaustible, determined and at times impossible đ Wendy Plomp it all wouldnât have happened, hence the name of our chair; Di Mama.
Reacting to the chair Wendy and her Dutch Invertuals team have designed for 5 Tracks Breda, we aimed at softening the appearance by altering corners, edges and materials, leaving the distinguishing characteristics of the original untouched.
Create⢠ByBorre
Adding a touch of Daphna Laurens, to the existing design, became even more exciting with the opportunity to work with ByBorre. They offered us the opportunity to develop an upholstery textile design, using their digital design Createâ˘.
The aim of our Create⢠endeavour was to devise a furniture upholstery textile that unifies refined simplicity and a sparkling appeal.
Coming up with a random (without method or conscious decision) dessin/pattern, called for a more haphazard design process, which was rather new to us. Because of this collaboration we were able to turn the Di Mama Chair into something really unique, festive and personal!

“ We take this, 15 years celebration moment, as an opportunity to thank 'the mother of Dutch Invertualsâ. ”
